What types of programs does the Division of Personnel offer? The Division of Personnel offers Supervisory and Management training programs as well as Career Growth and Development seminars. Please refer to our Homepage for a complete listing of all courses. Who should attend?Supervisors, Managers, and Executives in Missouri State Government may attend, as well as those who may be interested or considering a career in supervision and management. How do I enroll for a training class? After you inform your supervisor and receive permission to attend a Division of Personnel training class, you can enroll in several different ways:
If you are an employee of the Department of Corrections or the Department of Health, contact your agency training coordinator to arrange for enrollment. Employees who enroll for training courses using these methods generally participate in an open enrollment session. Open enrollment allows supervisors and managers from different state agencies to attend a specific class together. New skills are learned while meeting and working together with people from other agencies who often experience similar challenges. Different views and perspectives are shared that enhance the learning experience and provide new insight in solving mutual issues and concerns. Will you offer the class specifically for our agency? We welcome the chance to bring any of our supervisory or managerial courses to your agency, or mutually agreed upon location. We provide agency specific classes, meaning that everyone in the class is from the same agency. This is often done when at least fifteen people from the same agency have enrolled in the class, or when an agency training coordinator requests it. In addition to learning new skills, participants in these classes have the chance to be part of a valuable team building experience, and address specific agency issues in a closed setting. Contact your agency training coordinator to discuss the possibilities, or call us directly at (573) 751-4514. How do I know if I am enrolled in the class?Participants enrolled in a class will receive a confirmation letter. If you do not receive a confirmation letter, please check with your supervisor or agency training coordinator before coming to the training session. You may also call the DOP at (573) 751-4514 to check your enrollment. If we are unable to enroll you in a class, you will automatically be placed in the next available class and be informed of the change to confirm your availability to attend.
